IT Architect (m/f/d)

With focus on Data Management and Data Quality

The role of the IT Architect is a generalist position to enable the various teams of the bank to deliver IT focused project artefacts in the Netherlands and Germany. You will be responsible for gathering detailed IT requirements in projects or working groups. This includes translating business needs into functional and non‐functional system requirements, leads technical assessment and solutioning workshops with suppliers and leads end‐to‐end IT requirements definition.

You will be learning the key aspects of a compliant and safe technology implementation including the respective IT governance frameworks. Strong interpersonal skills and a hands‐on mentality are essential for this role. Depending on interests, this position provides opportunity to develop into a specialist role in one of the several IT areas. Affinity with the financial services industry, knowledge and understanding of regulatory frameworks and requirements, are a plus for this role.


  • Lead system and data analysis efforts for projects and change initiatives. Determine how changing needs will affect the systems, products and processes and a strong focus on Data Management and Data Quality
  • Define the application, system, data and technical architectures for significant areas of development
  • Review and detail data dictionary (including data fields definitions, data taxonomy, data owner and CDE determination)
  • Review existing data and technology landscape to identify inefficiencies
  • Drive (re)assessment of relevant regulatory requirements against existing technical implementations
  • Support the IT Engagement process which ensures the compliant implementation of new and changed technology to the bank's IT landscape in line with regulatory requirements (e.g. BAIT, MaRisk, BCBS239 and BIRRD) and internal policies.
  • Close collaboration with different IT Experts from Architecture, Data, IT Security, IT Service Management and IT Compliance to analyse the implementation of new and changed technologies
  • Works with the stakeholders to define and agree change outcomes and benefits and to confirm that outcomes will support their realization within budget and time frame
  • Capabilities for Data Modelling for selected reporting areas (IFRS/HGB/CRRIII/BIRD/IREF) is a strong plus.
  • Define and prioritize a backlog of technology projects and change initiatives
  • Close and proactive engagement with internal delivery resources and external suppliers to define outcomes; ensure aligned and agreed approach based on the strategic priorities

  • University level degree and several years' of working experience as IT / Data Analyst / IT Architect / Data Architect
  • Experienced with/in (among others):
    • IT architecture, Data Architecture, IT change management, IT service management and / or IT security
    • Data Management and Data Quality
    • Implementing, testing and support of solutions across the full delivery lifecycle
    • Working in a multi-supplier environment, vendors, managing across teams, and working directly with business
    • IT infrastructure management (i.e. cloud setup, traditional datacentre setup, outsourcing model)
    • Iterative development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum)
    • Knowledge of IT or project management governance frameworks e.g. ITIL is a plus
  • Able to combine change management standards with high paced transformational environment
  • Knowledge of project management disciplines, standards, processes and governance, certified qualification an advantage
  • Very good interpersonal and effective verbal and written communication skills to colleagues at all levels
  • Fluency in spoken and written business level English. German and / or Dutch is a plus
