We are 50Hertz – one of the four transmission system operators (TSO) in Germany. Together with the Belgian electricity grid operator Elia (Brussels), we form the internationally active Elia Group. At 50Hertz, over 2,100 employees ensure that electricity flows over long distances reliably, with minimal loss, and optimally managed. As a TSO, we play a central role in the implementation of the energy transition from a technical and economic perspective, acting as a facilitator. Our goal is to integrate 100 percent renewable energy into the grid and system securely and affordably by 2032.

Your tasks:
- Look beyond conventional solutions when addressing key challenges of the energy transition,
- Assist in maintaining an existing application that is going to be released as open source in the future,
- Help with the maintenance of the application (bug fixing),
- Be actively involved in building an open source community for the application,
- Maintain close communication with external partners such as industrial companies, other European (transmission) grid operators, research institutes, …
- Are pursuing your master's degree,
- Are passionate about the energy transition,
- Work independently and take responsibility for your tasks,
- Ideally have the following skills and wish to develop them further:
- Frontend: React, Vite,
- Identity: Python,
- Backend: C#,
- Database: PostgreSQL,
- Nice to have: Experience in handling Kubernetes,
- Are interested in open source projects and their maintenance, and enjoy building a community around the application,
- Have very good English skills (C1) in both written and spoken form,
- Ideally understand German (B2) as well.
