We are looking for an experienced and proactive professional to join our Center of Expertise (CoE) for Mobility & Immigration as a Senior Specialist. In this role, you will take full ownership of our global mobility and immigration landscape, ensuring the strategic and operational delivery of high-impact programs and services for Germany & Austria (G&A).

You will be responsible for overseeing international transfers, secondments, and flexible work options while ensuring legal compliance and a seamless experience for employees. You will act as the central point of contact for mobility and immigration topics within G&A, lead collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, and manage regulatory obligations across key regions.

In addition to program execution, you'll foster cross-functional alignment and support the continuous development of our policies and processes. Finally, you'll play a key role in training, reporting, and stakeholder enablement, ensuring BCG remains agile and compliant in a complex international context.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall program and process ownership
You will take full responsibility for the conceptual and operational management of mobility and immigration programs, ensuring effective collaboration, high-quality service delivery, and continuous development. You'll also provide second-level support and subject matter expertise to HR (shared) service teams, acting as a trusted advisor on complex cases and ensuring process alignment across regions.

Visa and immigration support
You'll act as the main contact person for immigration-related matters, including

  • supporting in- and outbound Germany & Austria immigration processes,
  • operationally handling visa and residence/work permit applications in Germany & Austria,
  • managing interactions with public authorities and internal teams, and
  • delivering trainings and guidance for staff and HR partners.

Regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
You will monitor and implement new immigration laws and guidelines, ensuring compliance and minimizing risk, with focus areas including

  • EU posted worker regulations,
  • Switzerland and U.S. travel requirements, and
  • legal updates for Germany and Austria

Mobility program management
You will oversee a variety of global and local mobility programs, serving as the central point of contact for internal stakeholders (e.g., consulting staff, mobility teams, and HR units) and external partners. This includes

  • global mobility programs and secondments,
  • temporary and permanent individual transfers, and
  • hosting policies and flexible work models (e.g., working abroad).

Enablement and training
You will develop and deliver training sessions to ensure awareness and consistency across mobility and immigration processes globally.

Data, reporting, and capacity planning
You'll manage reporting activities, track key mobility metrics, and support capacity planning to align resources with program demand.

YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will be part of a small but highly specialized team within the CoE Mobility & Immigration, characterized by mutual trust, support, and a strong commitment to excellence. The team works closely with local and global HR, staffing, and recruiting teams, as well as with external vendors and legal authorities. You'll report to the new CoE Mobility & Immigration Lead for Central Europe and work alongside other experts in the field, contributing to a collaborative and agile work environment.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Three or more years of professional experience in global mobility, immigration, or international HR, ideally in a complex, multinational environment
  • Excellent knowledge of visa and work and residence permit processes, particularly for Germany and Austria
  • Familiarity with EU posted worker regulations and international mobility compliance, especially for Switzerland and the U.S.
  • Proven experience in designing operational processes for HR (shared) service teams
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence, anticipating challenges and acting as a sparring partner to leadership on strategic mobility and immigration topics
  • Strong project and case management skills, with a structured, solution-oriented mindset
  • Very good command of both German and English (C1 level, written and spoken)
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); knowledge of tools like Trello or Concur is a plus
