The Opportunity:
As the Country Manager for Emaldo in Germany, you will have full P&L responsibility and lead our expansion in this dynamic market. You will develop the local strategy, build a high-performing team, drive sales and customer satisfaction, and ensure Emaldo's brand becomes a recognized leader in solar and battery storage solutions. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, making strategic decisions to ensure market success.
This is a full-time position and will be located in Dusseldorf (with travel as needed).
- Market Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for Emaldo's solar and battery storage solutions in Germany.
- Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and potential partnerships or distribution channels.
- Financial Management (P&L Ownership)
- Own the country P&L, setting and managing budgets to meet revenue, profit, and growth targets.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure profitability.
- Team Building & Management
- Recruit, onboard, and lead a small local team (including Account Manager for Sales, Customer Service Staff, Electrician for Training & Technical Support, and Finance & Logistics Admin).
- Provide direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure each team member meets their objectives and develops professionally.
- Cultivate a positive, entrepreneurial culture aligned with Emaldo's mission and values.
- Sales & Business Development
- Oversee the sales strategy, ensuring the team drives new business, maintains strong relationships with existing clients, and meets or exceeds sales targets.
- Network with industry stakeholders, potential partners, and relevant associations to expand Emaldo's market presence.
- Operational Excellence
- Work closely with the Electrician (technical support) to ensure installations, training, and after-sales support meet quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate with the Finance & Logistics Admin to optimize supply chain, inventory management, and financial controls, ensuring smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with all local regulations, including environmental, health, and safety norms.
- Customer & Partner Relationships
- Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring superior service levels and satisfaction.
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, distribution partners, and installers.
- Represent Emaldo at industry conferences, trade shows, and events to showcase our solutions.
- Reporting & Alignment
- Report regularly to Emaldo's HQ on financial performance, market trends, and strategic opportunities.
- Collaborate with the HQ product and marketing teams to ensure brand consistency, product alignment, and shared best practices.
- Proven Experience in Solar and Battery Storage
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in the renewable energy sector, ideally with a strong background in solar PV and battery storage systems.
- A successful track record in a commercial or operational leadership role (e.g., General Manager, Commercial Director, Sales Director).
- Leadership & P&L Responsibility
- Demonstrated P&L ownership in a previous role, with a clear ability to set targets, manage budgets, and drive profitable growth.
- Experience building and scaling teams (recruitment, performance management, and team development).
- Market Knowledge
- Deep understanding of the German renewable energy market, including policy landscape, incentive programs, and competitive environment.
- Established network within the local solar/battery industry or broader renewable energy sector is highly desired.
- Commercial & Strategic Acumen
- Strong business development track record: identifying prospects, closing deals, and forming partnerships.
- Ability to analyze market data, forecast sales, and create strategic initiatives that drive market share.
- Operational & Technical Insight
- Comfortable overseeing technical support functions (e.g., installations, training, troubleshooting) in coordination with a qualified electrician/engineer.
- Familiarity with logistics, supply chain, and financial controls in a product-oriented environment.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English and German (written and spoken) is required.
- Strong presentation skills for both internal stakeholders and external events.
