This role reports directly to the CEO in case of escalation, and for resources and accountability. It is fully empowered to access all company information - both ashore and onboard - ensuring smooth and effective investigations. - Conduct fleet incident investigations per company procedures.
- Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) are meaningful and sustainable.
- Promote organizational learning to enhance loss prevention.
- Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders.
- Lead diverse investigation teams and manage related resources.
- Collaborate with QHSE, Fleet Management, Crewing, and Procurement functions.
- Provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders and review the progress.
- Work with Training & HR to address training-related CAPAs.
- Use investigations as a learning and development opportunity for team members, wherever possible.
- Foster a learning culture and support team development.
- Maritime industry-related academic degree e.g., Nautical Science, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering
- At least 2 years of sailing experience in senior ranks and/or shore-based experience in a senior ship management position
- Minimum 3 years of experience in QHSSE, Human & Organizational Performance, or a related field
- Proven experience in incident investigation and familiarity with established methodologies e.g., Kelvin TOP-SET, TapRooT
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management principles (ISO 9000 series)
- Advanced understanding of humanities, risk management, safety engineering, and systems thinking
- Auditing experience is an advantage
- Willingness to travel
