Specialist Sustainability Metrics & LCIA (f/m/x)

Co-Defining/ designing, modelling sustainability metrics, conducting Life Cycle Impact Assessments and present results to internal and external SHs

Modelling and simulating processes, material and energy flows of production/ product systems

Fulfilling requirements of mandatory and voluntary LCIA/ sustainability standards (e.g. GHG protocol) and achieving a positive outcome related to their auditing

Point of contact for internal and internal SHs in relation to LCIAs and LCIA-related mandatory and voluntary standards and certification matter

Define LCIA-data governance processes according to regulations and norms and develop compliant Carl Zeiss Group-reporting formats

Advice, support, train internal SHs in the scope defined by the segment sustainability strategy and co-define the sustainability KPIs, objectives and targets for the product categories in line with the segment sustainability strategy

Master's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, chemical, etc.) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, environmental sciences, etc.). Alternatively, bachelor's degree in similar subjects with additional R&D working experience

LCIA practitioner experience of minimum two years in LCIA consultancy or comparable position (of advantage if in a multi-site industrial company of the medical technology industry) and practical experience in project management responsibility role and interaction with external auditors

Mastery know-how in LCIA standards & guidances (ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14067, PEF, EPDs, EMAS, EcoLabel) and skilled in performing LCIA calculations and generating key performance indicators (KPIs) using LCIA tools

Familiarity with Green House Gas accounting, life cycle assessment, and environmental management standards

Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build cross-functional relationships

Self-driven, motivated, organized and teamplayer as well as passionate and enthusiasm for sustainability aspects

Business fluent command of spoken and written English and German with excellent communication skills as well as the willingness to travel
