LDD Ltd, an Acteon company, is a marine and subsea foundation specialist and part of the Marine Foundations Business Line. Using our extensive in-field know-how, we design, engineer, build and operate world class pile-installation equipment, such as large drilling and grouting systems, to install tubular foundations of any size, in any geology, worldwide.
LDD Ltd are currently looking to add a high calibre Contract Manager to their Contract and Legal and Department team. This is a full-time, permanent role, based in either our office in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands or Germany. The candidate will be required to travel frequently to Co rnwall, UK and Cork, Ireland, especially at the outset
Working in support of the senior leadership, but sitting within the Contract and Legal Department, you will ensure that LDD contractual and commercial interests are supported at all times across our range of international projects.
This role requires a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience of contracts and contracting. You must have the capability to review contractual documents and, through understanding the LDD business and the constraints within which it operates, identify risk, propose and negotiate appropriate mitigations with the client and assist with management of any residual risk during the operational delivery of the project.
An understanding of marine / civil construction contracts and commercial management, including monthly measure, cashflow and forecasting, along with a basic knowledge of offshore construction is considered an advantage.
There is a requirement to work closely with other members of the Contracts and Legal Department, the Marine Foundations Businesses and to build relationships with clients internationally, which will include travel to sites internationally to discuss contract terms or manage/support dispute resolution and so any candidate is required to be customer facing and capable of holding talks under high-pressured situations.
• Pre and post project award contract review, drafting, negotiation and administration, supporting the Sales and Operations teams of the Marine Foundations Business Line.
• Thorough knowledge of live contract terms and conditions, clients, client relationships, cashflow and suppliers.
• Develop close working relationship and integrate with Marine Foundations Sales and Operations departments.
• Provide general commercial and contractual advice as appropriate in day to day relationships with other Marine Foundations personnel.
• Ensure compliance with LDD and Acteon principals in regard to commercial, contracting and financial operations.
• Identify potential commercial and contractual problems and report / support Head of Legal / Commercial Manager in their resolution as required.
• Manage insurance claims from projects, in consultation with Acteon insurance providers.
• Draft project variation orders, letters of award and similar legal documentation, in consultation with the Legal and Contracts Department.
• Support establish project bonds, guarantees or other such sureties if required.
• Conduct commercial and contracts training to members of LDD, including presentations on contract mechanisms.
• Previous experience in commercial / contracts / legal role.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
• Analytical, with a high attention to detail.
• Extensive working knowledge of commercial contracts and legal principles.
• Experience with offshore works, services or projects.
• At least 3 years of working experience preferably in civil or marine construction.
• Ability to work both on own and as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritise work load.
• Ability to be able to spot a “good deal”.
