Our Operational Support Team within Power Trading and Optimization at Uniper Global Commodities SE in Düsseldorf, Germany is looking for you! The CCO Power department 'Business Development & Contract Management' helps to develop strategic Power growth initiatives and is responsible for securing an effective, compliant and successful energy economic contract management. In doing so, it contributes directly contributing to the commercial success of the front-office Power function and enables its energy transformation.

We're looking for a ‘Power Expert' who brings business knowledge and experience in energy economics preferably in commodity trading, short-term and dispatch operations, or portfolio optimization while at the same time has the right passion to deliver results and manage multiple complex projects to completion.

  • You will drive business development and strategic cross-functional initiatives. This includes engaging stakeholders, developing proposals, and conducting workshops (for example, in relation to decentral flexibility, security of supply, hydrogen, as applicable to Power)
  • You will support securing an effective, compliant and commercially successful contract management for Power Trading & Optimization contracts and thus contribute to the overall team's success
  • You support the Power business lines by independently driving topics forward, deriving clear conclusions and recommendations from complex information, using both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • You will build strong relationships and manage stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Risk, Finance, Legal, CTG, IT) to ensure the success of Power initiatives and represent the Power team
  • You communicate findings effectively with stakeholders, present results, steer decisions and promote their implementation

  • Educated to degree level in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or comparable studies
  • Relevant job experience in energy economics, preferably in commodity trading, dispatch, optimization or sales is advantageous
  • Strong focus on delivering high-quality results with "getting things done"-attitude, as well as a high level of personal responsibility and self-motivation
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and effectively collaborate with stakeholders (internal or external)
  • Proven track record in project management through all phases of a project life cycle in the area of commodity trading, power supply or short-term trading is a plus
  • Fluent in English is essential, other EU language would be a plus
