Kipu Quantum is a German startup focused on quantum computing, with offices in Karlsruhe and Berlin. We specialize in developing quantum algorithms tailored for specific applications and hardware. Our solutions help various industries, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, logistics, and finance, to tackle complex problems using existing quantum hardware. We aim to make practical quantum computing accessible by significantly reducing the time needed to achieve quantum advantage for real-world applications.
In December 2023, Kipu Quantum secured €10.5 million in seed funding, led by HV Capital and DTCF (DeepTech & Climate Fonds), with participation from Entrada Ventures, Quantonation, and First Momentum Ventures. This funding will support the development of our hardware-specific quantum algorithms and accelerate the commercialization of our quantum solutions.
In this role, you will support our Quantum Development Team in shaping the future of quantum computing! You will work on engineering advanced quantum algorithms, integrating quantum solutions into API-driven software services on our platform, and exploring innovative encodings and industry use cases for commercially available quantum computers. You will collaborate closely with other quantum algorithm expert and software developers, playing a key role in productizing Kipu's state-of-the-art quantum algorithms.
- Improving the engineering of quantum algorithms including exploring better encodings of problems, classical pre- and post-processing methods, improving efficiency of transpilation.
- Work to continuously improve the benchmarking process of quantum algorithms and quantum solvers
- Work with the team to design API based quantum solvers hosted on our product platform from the embedding of the problem going into its implementation using Kipu's state-of-the-art quantum algorithms on quantum hardware and to the rebuilding of the solution of the initial problems
- Manage and optimize the maintenance of deployed quantum solvers
- Work with the team to continuously improve the productization process
- Completed studies (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Quantum Computing, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field or comparable qualifications
- Expertise in quantum algorithms, quantum computing libraries and Python development
- Experience with software development including automation of CI-CD pipeline, deployment of dockerized applications, troubleshooting and resolving performance bottlenecks
- Understanding of quantum error correction and noise mitigation strategies would be an advantage
- Experience with classical optimization techniques and their quantum counterparts as well as in machine learning would be a big plus
- Strong problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to work in and with cross-disciplinary teams
- Experience with agile workflows and agile project methods like SCRUM
