We are now looking for a committed person for Frankfurt am Main
Senior Network Engineer (w/m/d)
- Solid experience in working in the networking industry on the engineering side, including several years in either a large IT shared services organization or telecom service provider environment.
- Strong understanding of Firewalling and related technologies (e.g.Loadbalancing, VPN, WAN connectivity etc.) as well as and comprehension of the TCP/IP model and their usage principles. Ideally you have several years of experience in working with Fortinet hardware.
- You have expert level knowledge of Networking Protocols and Technologies (Ethernet, BGP, OSPF, EVPN, Juniper HW, QoS etc.) and are familiar with Linux. Additionally, you are proficient in software development (e.g. Python) and scripting tools (Ansible, Git) as well as in monitoring tool such as Zabbix and telemetry.
You ensure stable and reliable network services in our IT platform and take over responsibility for the effective operation and maintenance of our networking and firewalling equipment on premise and cloud based. You will be mainly in charge for:
- Designing and contributing to networking infrastructure, automation projects, and developing tools to increase efficiency.
- Addressing network escalations, conducting troubleshooting, fault analysis, and repairs, while providing technical leadership during major incidents.
- Interfacing with relevant departments to ensure optimal service and network performance, as well as improving current processes and workflows.
- Strategic Alignment – Influencing the strategies of peer teams to ensure alignment with the technical direction of the IT strategy and architecture
