BTG will drive security of supply, energy transition, organizational and financial health through digital, data and analytics. BTG will secure solid foundations through seamless end-user services (UX), industry-leading cybersecurity setup and resilient data centers and cloud infrastructure. BTG will have consistent business/BTG alignment, strategic partnerships with vendors and clear standards on architecture, vendor & portfolio management and security. BTG will unlock value of data and digital by building all the necessary enablers (incl. data platform, data governance processes, capabilities) and embedding innovation initiatives into business roadmaps.

Your contribution to TenneT

As a Senior Data Governance Specialist, you will work closely with other Data Management professionals both within the Digital & Data department as from other business units and departments. We want to work smarter with data. You will help us to make Data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) within TenneT, enabling us to accelerate our end-to-end processes and strategic targets.

On a day-to-day basis, tasks may include:

  • Support our business to implement ways of working with respect to metadata and business glossaries, documented in pragmatic guidelines.
  • Offer guidance to subject matter experts to support the establishment and maintenance of data products, enable them to take up data stewarding activities and in doing so, enhance role descriptions.
  • Enable use cases with data profiling and quality assessments and in doing so establish handbooks.
  • Support a new use case for master data management, so that both the master data will be properly managed by our business teams, as well as all data consuming teams and applications will commit to using this master data.
  • Explain the enterprise data model to data engineers and database developers.
  • Train data stewards and support the development of e-learnings for data management.
  • Review compliance of data products on various dimensions and initiate actions to resolve incompliances.



You are a seasoned Data Management professional with the following qualifications:

  • 5-10 years hands on experience in implementing Data governance
  • Several years of experience in having consulted on data management for medium to larger companies
  • Experience with DAMA DM-BOK v2 and / or Certified as Data Management Professional (CDMP)
  • Good communication & presentation skills and being organizational sensitive
  • Fluent in English and German; Dutch is an advantage
  • Business understanding of utilities or energy industry is a plus
  • Professional qualifications including relevant university degree or equivalent
