FPGA Electronics Design Engineer (m/f/d)

As part of the Electronics Department at OHB, you will be responsible for designing and testing FPGA firmware. Our electronic units control high-precision motors, actively reduce vibrations, process high-resolution image data, sensor signals, and more.   • Analyze and define requirements for FPGA designs
  • Develop design architecture and break down requirements into functional blocks
  • Implement FPGA designs and define necessary constraints
  • Create design documentation in compliance with internal and external normative standards
  • Develop and execute test benches for RTL and timing simulations
  • Perform formal verification of FPGA designs, including timing analysis, code coverage, and coding rule checks
  • Support FPGA integration on target hardware
  • Define verification concepts and plans
  • Conduct FPGA verification and testing on target hardware
  • Program test hardware for automated execution of hardware test cases

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Technical University / University of Applied Sciences)
  • Several years of professional experience in VHDL design for synthesis and behavioral modeling, preferably in the space industry
  • Proficiency in using state-of-the-art design and simulation tools (e.g., Libero, Modelsim)
  • Experience with FPGA design and verification according to ECSS-E-ST-20-40 and ECSS-Q-ST-60-02 standards
  • Familiarity with mitigating single event effects caused by radiation
  • Experience in implementing and verifying FPGA-based signal processing and control algorithms
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++ or Python
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in teams
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.Good written and oral English
