Position Description

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Sales to drive growth, enhance market presence, and lead a high-performing team in Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading market development, managing commercial operations, and ensuring customer satisfaction in alignment with QIAGEN's strategic objectives. The role demands a strong focus on financial management, including financial planning, budgeting, cost control, and ensuring profitability and financial stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial & Commercial Leadership – Drive topline growth, optimize costs, and enhance pricing strategy while ensuring efficient cash flow management.
- Strategic Leadership & Team Development – Build and lead a high-performing sales organization, fostering collaboration across functions. Attract, develop, and retain top talent while implementing succession planning.
- Customer & Market Expansion – Tailor solutions for public and private sector clients, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships through deep engagement and strategic networking.
- Brand & Industry Presence – Represent the company at a national level, build partnerships with key stakeholders, and drive brand visibility through PR, trade associations, and marketing collaborations.

Position Requirements
- Degree/PhD in science or equivalent preferred, with Masters or MBA a plus
- 8-10 years of sales management experience (international exposure desired)
- Previous team and/or country management experience
- Experienced in coaching/managing large teams
- Proven successful leadership, team management and budget experience
- Sensitivity for employment law requirements
