The Business Development Manager OEM Dye Business is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), identifying and developing new business opportunities to integrate our fluorescent dyes into their products.

You will be required to stay abreast of industry trends, and market developments, while meeting ambitious sales targets and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your ability to adapt, innovate, and drive strategic initiatives will be crucial in mastering these challenges and contributing to Leica Microsystems' continued success.

This position reports to the Director Commercial Product Management LSAS and is part of the Product Commercialization located in our Business Unit and and will be fully remote.

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company goals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with OEMs and other potential partners, negotiate contracts and agreements and build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in the fluorescence dye industry, join key events and exhibitions to connect to expand network.
  • Collaborate with the broader commercial organization and R&D teams to develop effective sales strategies and increase share gain and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management, and develop and deploy activities to meet and exceed targets.

  • Degree in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology
  • Strong years of experience in the biochemical markets or a related field, with a preference of selling into fluorescent dye industry.
  • Proven track record in business development or sales with the ability to develop and execute strategic business plans, understand market dynamics, and drive revenue growth.
  • Experience in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building customer relationships, and achieving sales targets especially in working with OEMs, understanding the dynamics of working with Original Equipment Manufacturers and integrating products into their systems
  • Fluency in English and German

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:if applicable for role

  • Ability to travel – at least 50% of time (mostly Europe and US)
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • OEM Sales or business development experience in organic fluorescent dyes business
  • Understanding of how fluorescence dyes are used and integrated into products, enabling effective communication with technical teams and customers.
