Legal Counsel Procurement (m/f/d)

As our Legal Counsel Procurement (m/f/d), you will be part of NTT Global Data Centers Legal team and support the Procurement team in reviewing and negotiating procurement contracts and handling all other commercial legal matters in relation to the procurement activities. The role sits within the Global Procurement, Litigation and Claims Management legal team as part of the Global legal team.


  • Support the Procurement department with the drafting, review and negotiation of supply and procurement contracts across multiple areas ( including purchase and installation of goods and equipment, services agreements, NDAs, consultancy appointments, standard terms & conditions, security services contracts, data center maintenance, critical equipment contracts, IT procurement contracts, construction contracts, novation agreements etc.) for all sites in our EMEA footprint (currently Germany, England, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, France and South Africa), with support by local external legal counsel if required
  • Drafting, improving, and adapting procurement template agreements with up-to-date legal requirements, as well as preparing approval request forms and legal memos for the Procurement department, including maintaining and updating a template library
  • Supporting negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Summarizing legal facts as a basis for making commercial and legal decisions
  • Management of external counsel
  • Conducting internal legal training and preparing internal guidelines

  • Qualified lawyer (ideally German Rechtsanwalt or English qualified solicitor or barrister)
  • Demonstrable minimum 4-5 years post-qualification experience (in-house or in a law firm) in drafting, reviewing and negotiating direct and/or indirect procurement contracts across multiple areas
  • Working experience in DACH region and excellent business knowledge of the German language
  • Solid commercial contracts experience and commercial awareness of contractual conditions
  • Experience of working in both common law and civil law jurisdiction and managing pre-litigation and dispute would be an advantage
  • Experience in advising on, negotiating, and executing non-standard supplier contracts
  • Option to work fully remote with the willingness to travel internationally
