- Independently advising the various divisions on national and international commercial and contract law, including handling related disputes
- Drafting, reviewing, evaluating and negotiating contracts and legal documents
- Advising the specialist departments on all legally relevant matters as part of the day-to-day business of the Legal Group Commercial as well as in warranty and product liability cases
- Legal analysis and structuring of processes to safeguard business opportunities and to avoid or minimize damage and risks, whereby an overall view of the entire supply chain from a sales and purchasing perspective is required
- Early recognition of challenges and legal trends in an industry environment that is undergoing major disruptive change and is exposed to extreme challenges in the supply chain area with complex contractual implications and public law requirements, but which leave room for creative freedom
- Proactive legal advice and support for decision-makers in the implementation of legal requirements and changes to the law
- Legal support for interdisciplinary projects, including complex (development) projects in the automotive sector
- Conducting training courses for employees on legal topics
- Representing the interests of the divisions externally by conducting contract and settlement negotiations
- Selecting, mandating, managing and supporting external lawyers and notaries
- Successful completion of a law degree and the 2nd state examination, preferably with honors, admission as an (in-house) lawyer desirable or comparable degree in an English or French-speaking country
- Ideally, but not necessarily, initial professional experience with commercial law activities in a law firm or in the legal department of an industrial company, ideally in the automotive or supplier sector in an international environment, knowledge of the functioning of a matrix organization is an advantage
- In-depth understanding of economic and technical interrelationships and interest in technological developments
- “Hands-on” mentality and ability to react quickly to events and to develop legal argumentation strategies and prepare these in a concise form for business partners and decision-makers or to represent them jointly vis-à-vis contractual partners
- Confident user knowledge of MS Office, open-mindedness for legal tech and interest in AI topics in legal departments
- Ability to work in a team, flexibility and strong communication skills as well as a self-reliant, solution-oriented, cost-conscious and independent way of working
- Business fluent in German and English (ideally acquired abroad, e.g. as part of an LL.M), further foreign language skills (in particular knowledge of French and ideally French law) desirable
- High level of intercultural competence and basic understanding of different business and legal cultures within and outside Europe
- Occasional willingness to travel on business
