Your role

As project lead for process development for new business fields you will be responsible to drive the business and IT delivery of well-functioning processes on the business side for several new business fields. In this role you will define and deliver all business processes for several new business fields from process and requirement definition until go-live and hypercare. You will drive delivery and cooperate tightly across several emerging business fields and IT delivery units in a highly networked and dynamic environment. As a strategic partner to both business and IT the ideal candidate will possess process expertise and technical expertise, outstanding communication and coordination skills, and the ability to structure ambiguous environments effectively. In this role you will be challenged to simultaneously use your understanding of business processes as well as IT system architecture and IT delivery.

  • Define and align as owner on the business side the target picture for the business processes and IT system landscape of emerging business fields based on fit-gap with current and planned processes and systems for the core business

  • Define the integration and interfaces of new business fields with the process, system and data architecture of existing core business to ensure their integration & compatibility

  • Lead as primary liaison the definition of all global business processes and high-quality requirements as well as proper process documentation for the new business fields in alignment between business functions and IT experts across all emerging business areas and IT delivery units and drive the governance for the collection, specification, alignment and prioritization of demands across standardization and customization needs

  • Act as a strategic bridge between business and IT to ensure the smooth integration of technical and business processes and drive process innovation both in business and IT

  • Own and drive the planning, prioritization and delivery of demands for business and technical processes within time and budget incl. appropriate risk management and efficient resource allocation – based on a data-driven steering along established demand PMO processes

  • Ensure scalability and growth enablement for new businesses by driving maturity of process and IT environment in sync with business maturity until definition of target operating model and handover into run-organization

  • Conduct the project management office for all business process and IT related activities for 4 new business fields based on best practices incl. state-of-the art demand and change management to ensure reliable delivery adherence in line with overall roadmap and schedules based on transparent progress reporting

  • Ensure system readiness for go-live, hyper-care and ramp-up. Coordinate strongly aligned with the business partners E2E tests including all ZEISS Vision Care IT and Corporate IT functions and lead product rollouts across heterogenous ophthalmic markets

  • Assure and steer regular alignment of new business building with other ongoing processes and key projects within ZEISS Vision Care

  • Define, build and ensure target operating model for business processes and corresponding IT systems in alignment with respective business and technical product owners to ensure high availability and reliability of business processes for growing businesses in the frame of IT operations

  • Build a deep understanding of ZEISS Vision Care business, processes and systems

  • Build a broad productive stakeholder network across functions and regions across ZEISS Vision Care by building trustful relationships


  • A degree with excellent grades from a leading university in engineering/business/ computer science

  • Strong experience in business transformation/change management and E2E process definition based on large-scale change management projects

  • 5 years experience in managing global IT programs in a project leadership role and a proven track record in leading mid to large scale process implementation programs in a multi-system environment incl. cloud solutions and SAP in a complex corporate environment

  • Experience in multiple functional areas of IT (Sales, Operations, SCM) and deep knowledge in E2E process design, optimization and implementation

  • Proven successful track record in state-of-the art project management office both on business and IT projects

  • Experience with complex program delivery in multiple simultaneous workstreams on a broad range of functions & software solutions – ideally both in industry and consulting roles

  • Strategic mindset/business acumen paired with technological know-how in the area of modular micro-service-based cloud system architecture and SAP as well as process conceptualization skills in complex end-to-end business processes

  • Broad understanding of overall SAP and non-SAP landscape and interdependencies between different modules and cross functional integration

  • A best-of-combination of business and technical mindset coupled with the ability to explain technical matters into the language of stakeholders

  • Strong facilitation, moderation, presentation and communication skills (both orally and written) – being able to guide multiple stakeholders incl. senior management as well as individual contributors in IT on eye-level with a proactive approach

  • A strong accountability mindset and personal resilience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and uncertain environment

  • International experience across APAC, EMEA and NAFTA, willingness to travel and fluency in English – German language skills are a plus
