We are looking for a sharp, self-motivated, problem-solving student of Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics or Physics who will contribute and build technical expertise while enthusiastically working in our team. We offer a well paid (20.50 EUR/hr) 50% position for a working student (Werkstudent).


  • Handling the instrument development process, including design reviews, prototyping, testing and conducting assembly trials
  • Organize resolution of technical product issues (if any) in a structural way
  • Analyze and improve existing PCB and 3D designs
  • Communicate and work with original developers of open source devices coming from top academic institutions in the world
  • Organize & administrate 3rd party manufacturing
  • Product documentation and continuous improvement of ongoing production processes

  • Full-time registered Master's student with completed BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in handling technical projects, working in a team
  • High level of experience with EDA tools, such as Altium, Eagle, KiCad
  • Preferably experience with 3D CAD systems such as Autodesk Inventor
  • High ability to understand PCB designs, schematics and layout
  • Motivated and proactive individual, who likes to work in an agile environment
  • Team player with great communication skills who believes in cost optimization and reducing complexities
  • Proficiency in English; preferably knowledge of German
