For our IRONMAN Europe, Middle East and Africa business and based in Liederbach, Germany we are actively looking for a highly motivated, fluent English speaking:
LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN ASSISTANT (internship) (m/f/d)
The duration of the internship is designed to be six months, between 01.04.2025 and 30.09.2025.
Summary
The Logistics and Supply Chain Assistant will be part of The IRONMAN Group EMEA Logistics team for the 2025 event season. This role will support the team to operate the central EMEA warehouse in Liederbach, Germany, support the delivery of events in Germany and across Europe, coordinate race equipment and branding across the portfolio of events of The IRONMAN Group across Europe.
- Support with the day-to-day operation of the central EMEA warehouse in collaboration with the warehouse coordinator:
- Receive deliveries, control goods against PO, document and shelves
- Prepare outgoing shipments; collect items, draft documentation including customs paperwork
- Support with the coordination of transport to and from the warehouse
- Maintain accurate stock levels, carry out inventory and correct discrepancies
- Assist all loading and unloading operations
- Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of the warehouse.
- Support with the day-to-day management of the tour series and UTMB:
- Manage with the preparation of tour truck equipment during the off-season
- Support tour schedule as an onsite logistics assistant
- Prepare tour equipment for loading and unloading
- Manage inventory and return of UTMB equipment.
- Support with onsite delivery of logistics across The IRONMAN Group events in Germany and in Europe:
- Assist with event builds during race week and communicate with wider departments
- Supervise re-packing of material, record damage or losses, and work with Logistics colleagues to organize replacements; execute smaller repairs on site as appropriate
- Manage event warehouse; local equipment and supplies according to distribution plan
- Ensure timely departure of tour trucks by actively contributing to execution of logistics plan.
- Support Supply Chain department:
- Assist with incoming and outgoing orders
- Stock checks to ensure appropriate levels of non-branded items
- Communicate with local teams to ensure all orders are correct prior to departure
- General administration tasks.
- Related work experience in events and/or logistics is appreciated
- Open to graduate students in their final stage of education and recent graduates
- Ability to manage diversity in job responsibilities with precision and accuracy in work
- Must be hands-on, able to multi-task and show proper level of time management
- Good communication skills as well as willingness to learn and try new things
- Ability to work well in an international team environment
- Fluency in English, any additional language skills are beneficial (German, French, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Swedish, or other European languages)
- Basic proficiency in MS Office
- This position will require occasional work on weekends and occasional travel in the EMEA region
- Driving license required.
