As a Senior Software Test Engineer, you will play a central role in the success of the next generation of digital surgery products by bringing technical expertise and interpersonal skills to a sophisticated and fast-paced development team. In this role, you will help ensure the quality of the software products Ethicon is developing.
Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices is focused on shaping the future of digital surgery and expanding its robotics and digital solutions offerings across the entire portfolio, with multi-specialty, end-to-end solutions in orthopaedics, endoluminal intervention and general surgery. This includes the MONARCH® platform, a first-of-its-kind robotic technology indicated for bronchoscopic visualization of and access to patient airways for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the lung. In development is also a general surgery robot. - Develop test cases and test protocols to verify software functionality
- Champion efforts to improve utilization of automated test techniques in support of software development, build and release activities, and formal testing
- Work closely with product development teams to build the list of failure modes and how those should be tested
- Work with engineering and quality to ensure the proper execution of the test protocols and help ensure a quality product is produced
- Help define and refine software design and test control practices
- Experiences and Qualifications
- Hands-on software testing experience preferably with complex medical devices
- Experience in Python programming and scripting (e.g., Bash)
- Knowledge of software architecture and user interface automated testing
- Experience writing test protocols and decomposing sophisticated user interactions into simple and clear instructions.
- Experience with software quality systems
- General knowledge in other subject areas, including electrical and mechanical engineering
- A background in system test and software engineering processes
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
- B.Sc. in computer science or related field + 5 years of experience or M.Sc. or PhD in computer science or related field + 3 years of experience
