Project Assistant – Community Management (Part-Time)


  • Coordinating and managing the local and national Research Software Engineering (RSE) initiatives with us
  • Reporting to and working closely with the RSE Community Manager at Forschungs­zentrum Jülich
  • Managing our communication and promotion channels, handling messages and calls, scheduling meetings, and keeping everyone informed
  • Liaising with our partners in Germany and worldwide, identifying new collaborations, and attending meetings, conferences, and workshops to keep us up to date
  • Keeping an eye on new trends, techniques, events, and opportunities in order to evaluate them for the researchers at the research center, and inform the community about them
  • Organizing events and seminars at local, national, and international level

  • You have completed vocational training or have a comparable qualification in business, administration, media, event management, as a foreign language secretary, or in a similar subject
  • You are experienced and adept at using Microsoft Office products (especially PowerPoint and Word) and have already worked with website editors
  • You have very good communi­cation skills in English (English-speaking working environment) and German and are not afraid to talk to people across hierarchies
  • Working in a team is important to you and you can support your team members to perform at their best

You will be initially employed for a fixed term of two years but with the prospect of longer-term employment. Salary and social security benefits will conform to the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD-Bund), pay group 5–9a, depending on your current qualifications and the precise nature of the tasks assigned to you.
