The roughly 2.600 employees assigned to the Terminal & Infrastructure segment deal with terminal-related activities and provide complementary logistics services at selected locations.



  • In close cooperation with the tax, finance and accounting departments in Hamburg and around the globe you will be responsible for the creation and implementation of new functions, for process consulting as well as for the maintenance and support of the tax, finance and accounting processes in SAP together with the team
  • With your process and technical SAP tax, finance and accounting know-how, you will manage, do and support changes in our S/4HANA and SAP ECC system with your colleagues in Hamburg, Gdansk and Chennai
  • In our SAP S/4HANA transformation, you act as a subject matter expert from IT side, here you are responsible for the technical conception, development and implementation of the future SAP tax, accounting and finance solutions of Hapag-Lloyd
  • In particular, your responsibilities in the tax topics are:
    • Tax master data management
    • Tax determination configuration
    • Tax reporting/ auditing
    • Tax compliance management
    • Tax planning and analysis
  • Overall, your creative ideas, continuous learning mindset, and expertise will position you as an innovator within the team, driving new processes forward and effectively leveraging and implementing emerging technologies

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Your heart beats for IT, technological progress and especially SAP FI
  • To back this up, you have 3+ years' experience in SAP FI and especially Tax (e.g. in the topics value added tax (VAT) or withholding tax)
  • Here, you have relevant experience in the development, customization and implementation of complex SAP landscapes and in the optimization of business and IT processes
  • In addition, you have a sound understanding of business processes, especially in the areas of Finance, Accounting and Tax and adjacent areas like Payments, Treasury, Controlling and Procurement
  • Working together with colleagues from other teams and thinking out of the box is part of your daily business and something that comes naturally to you
  • A collaborative and empathic mindset to enable our business colleagues through our solutions
  • Experience or deep understanding of agile working methods, as in Scrum or experience as a Product Manager
  • Strong communication skills in an international environment paired with good command of written and spoken English

Nice if you have:

  • You have worked already with S/4HANA or have been part of a S/4HANA transformation
  • Experience in Pillar2 reporting an/ or Performance and Profitability Management (PaPM) is an advantage
  • Relevant previous experience in the areas of logistics or transportation
  • Understanding of container shipping business and/ or the Hapag-Lloyd IT Products
