- Lead a backend development team, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective communication with other teams and stakeholders.
- Drive the development and maintenance of our service-oriented architecture using PHP and Laravel
- Design and optimize distributed systems and services that scale
- Collaborate closely with product managers and other stakeholders to deeply understand business needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering their technical and professional growth.
- Advocate for and implement best practices, including clean code, performance optimization, and system reliability.
- Actively contribute to the evolution of our tech stack, introducing new tools or processes where necessary to improve efficiency and outcomes.
- Ensure software quality through the implementation of testing strategies, including automated testing.
- Participate in planning, monitoring, and improving the platform's performance and scalability
Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience with PHP and the Laravel framework.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (MySQL) and distributed data technologies (Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch).
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture and tools like Kafka.
- Familiarity with service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles.
- Experience in AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, etc.) and managing Linux systems.
- A solid understanding of backend testing methodologies and tools (e.g., PHPUnit)
Leadership Skills:
- Experience leading backend development teams or projects.
- Ability to mentor and coach team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders.
Problem-Solving and Business Orientation:
- Ability to understand and prioritize business requirements, balancing technical excellence with pragmatic solutions.
- A proactive attitude toward improving systems, processes, and team practices.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with Git version control and Agile methodologies like Scrum.
- Strong understanding of design patterns, software architecture principles, and coding standards.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
