Headquartered in Berlin, with additional offices in Unterföhring, Germany, and Zug, Switzerland, we specialize in film licensing, broadcast TV channels, audiotex services, and the development and operation of innovative TV apps. Our clients include some of the world's largest PayTV providers.
We seek an experienced and bilingual (German and English) Financial Controller to join our Berlin-based team. This role requires extensive expertise in cross-border inter-company transactions and offers the opportunity to work alongside our Group Finance Director, who will retire this summer. As a key team member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's financial strategy, with significant short-term potential for career growth and advancement within the organization.
- Ensure proper accounting records are maintained in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (HGB and IFRS) and coordinate closely with external accountants and auditors.
- Oversee tax compliance, including managing value-added tax (VAT) and handling double taxation issues.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including consolidated statements, according to HGB and IFRS standards.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Manage relationships with financial service providers, such as banks, tax consultants, auditors, insurance companies, and payroll offices.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures.
- Collaborate on the development of financial projections and budgets to support growth strategies.
- Results-driven, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional with a strong sense of integrity and accountability.
- A degree in business administration, finance, or a related field, with several years of relevant professional experience in accounting and finance.
- Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS accounting standards.
- Proficiency in common accounting software and tools.
- Excellent bilingual communication skills in English and German.
- Strong analytical skills with a love for numbers and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work hands-on in a small organization, balancing both operational and strategic responsibilities.
- Experience in tax compliance and financial reporting for international and cross-border operations.
