The Hasso Plattner Foundation aims to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies through science and education, improve access to art and culture, and support environmental conservation. Hasso Plattner, one of the founders of SAP, an enterprise software company, served as chairman of its supervisory board from 2003 to 2024. In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI), marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015. The Hasso Plattner Foundation's main office is in Potsdam, Germany.

The position


We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Chief of Staff to join our executive team. As the Chief of Staff, you will work closely with our CEO and senior leadership to drive key initiatives, facilitate decision-making processes, and ensure effective coordination and communication across the organization and beyond. This is a pivotal role that requires exceptional organizational abilities, pronounced operational drive, strong business acumen, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with changing priorities.

The job is based in Potsdam, Germany.


Your main tasks

  • Serve as a key confidante to the CEO, providing strategic guidance, insights, and recommendations
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement key organizational strategies and initiatives
  • Drive the execution of high-priority projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
  • Coordinate and facilitate executive meetings, including agenda setting, preparation of materials, and follow-up actions
  • Support the CEO in internal and external stakeholder management, including preparing presentations and communications


Your Experience & Qualifications

  • Outstanding academic track record from a leading university
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leading complex projects, preferably at a top multinational management consultancy and/or venture-backed start up
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills including mastery of PowerPoint & Excel
  • Great organizational skills and structured way of working
  • Experience with investment management is considered a plus
