Unit description

Grid Field Operations is executing Field Operations, Maintenance and (Baseload) Projects. We ensure the integrity and safety of our assets entrusted to us, while also ensuring their maximum availability. We make sure that the onshore grids of TenneT is reliable in Germany and the Netherlands.
TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition. We are looking for a passionate Head Operations Offshore (m/f/d) at our location Hannover who will contribute to this and that might be you?

Frame conditions

  • As of January 2025
  • The weekly working time is 37hours
  • The position is unlimited

  • Your suitability for offshore work according to the AWMF standard is required and will be checked by our company doctor

As Head Operations Offshore (Area Manager) you are accountable for the safe, reliable & sustainable operation and maintenance of our Offshore assets (grid connection systems) - Offshore assets include Offshore platforms, DC & AC cable infrastructure and land based converter stations.
  • Your accountability includes ensuring and improving the asset quality and asset performance, the operational execution performance (technically & financially) and the operational & organizational readiness for new assets
  • You are leading a cross-location department with 5 team managers and in total 130 department members and we expect you to create a healthy and learning community by developing the team's mindset towards a growth mindset, by developing your team members into strong (top) leaders/experts and by adjusting the team composition where necessary
  • Actively contributing to and co-owning the unit strategy development as well as implementing our unit strategy in your department is one of your main responsibilities
  • You actively contribute to establishing a top class safety culture and an environment in which it is possible for everyone to go home safe every day
  • You will take over the owner related obligations according to German regulations for all operational activities and asset integrity of our assets, this includes ensuring a legal compliant organisation
  • In addition, you are an active member of the German crisis organisation

  • You hold a master's degree in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering or comparable. Furthermore, you have an academic working and thinking level
  • You have relevant working experience as well as extensive experience in a leading position – proven track record in performance management and performance improvement

  • Stakeholder management: you develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders on Management level, who are essential for achieving our ambitions and results. Influences others in their perspectives and actions, understands the interests and decision-making process for stakeholders, and based on this develops win-win solutions
  • Empathy & Reflectiveness: you have a high level of self-reflection and willingness to learn and change; willingness to understand the needs of others as well as supporting them in self-reflection and development
  • Curiosity: intrinsic motivation to understand problems/challenges and to experiment with new concepts/ideas
