System Engineer Optical Sensors (m/d/f) - temporary until 30.04.2026 Location: Garching Your Duties Responsible for product definition, requirements identification, architectural choices, related to optical sensors in consumer applications Drive the implementation of Proof of Concept (POC) and customer demos. Hands-on support of hardware and software development. Study of mechanical solutions and system integration of demo material Feasibility study of new products in innovative optical sensing application spaces Define and deliver comprehensive competitive analysis with electrical measurements and physical teardowns Coordinate and interface with other cross-functional teams, i.e. IC-architects, IC design, packaging, applications engineering, test development, project management, field applications, etc. to develop complex, integrated system level solutions Technical Interface to customers on system level and device level Your Qualifications University degree in Electronics, Physics or comparable, ideally with experience in the semiconductor industry, with focus on optical sensors applications Technical problem solving and analytics skills at Integrated Circuit (IC) system board level, spanning across software and hardware Familiarity with software programming, e.g. Python, C++, Matlab Strong analytical and technical background on mixed-signal solutions, understanding of circuits and systems Familiarity with standard and optical lab equipment, validation and test methodology, data analysis Experience in light sensing, camera imaging, Time-Of-Flight (TOF) sensors and complex system platform development for consumer applications Outstanding leadership, customer oriented personality, presentation skills and excellent written/verbal communication Proficient in English You will benefit from 30 days vacation entitlement Attractive salary and our company pension scheme Christmas- and vacation bonus Flexible working hours Flexible home office arrangements to promote a healthy work-life balance Apply now and advance your career in a position that challenges you professionally and provides you with many benefits.
