Your Tasks

WEB.DE and GMX are among the leading e-mail providers in Germany. Our Big Data & Artificial Intelligence department helps to optimize existing business areas and develop new business projects. As DevOps Operation Engineer - Big Data (f/m/d) you are responsible for the smooth, functional and technical operation of our Big Data applications.

  • You are the first point of contact for the integration and operationalization of new Big Data applications into the existing system landscape.
  • You work closely with your colleagues in an interdisciplinary team and organize the operation of the data products/services.
  • You advise our specialist departments on questions relating to the software life cycle.
  • You accompany the team during the transfer of the software to live operation and are responsible for configuration, incident and problem management.
  • You enjoy evaluating new complex technologies and transferring them to the live environment.

Your Profile

Do you have a technical degree such as computer science or a comparable qualification? Are you interested in becoming part of our Big Data & Artificial Intelligence department and taking responsibility for the operation of Big Data applications? Do you enjoy familiarizing yourself with complex system landscapes? Do you have a hands-on approach to work? Do you see yourself described in the points below?   • You have experience in IT operations (monitoring & alerting) as well as with applications based on Linux and ideally Big Data knowledge (such as Hadoop, Kafka, Hive, Cassandra or Kubernetes).
  • You have sound scripting (such as bash, Python ...) and ideally SQL knowledge.
  • You are a talented organizer, keep track of incidents, communicate clearly and initiate appropriate troubleshooting measures with confidence.
  • You are a team player, enjoy new challenging topics and want to contribute your strengths to a highly motivated team.
