Sales Channel Manager Performance Materials (f/m/d)
Our sales channel partners are a critical route-to-market and an integral part of our ambitious growth strategy execution, accelerating penetration of target markets and business scaling. We are looking for an experienced sales professional with technical background, a winning attitude and the passion to develop sustainable strategic relationship with sales channel partners and customers. As Sales Channel Manager Performance Materials in the EMEA Region, you are located in Stuttgart or your home office after successful training and on-boarding. You will report to the VP & Managing Director PM-EMEA.
- Based on thorough market analysis, you define, plan and execute strategic sales plans that align with key business growth objectives of Materion Performance Materials and of our Channel Partners and maximize mutual value creation.
- You liaise with distributors and agents, deliver product presentations, manage accounts, monitor the competition, and work to increase Materion market share.
- You monitor the relevant performance KPIs through strategic analytics and implement initiatives to drive sales performance of the channel partners.
- You drive revenue and exceed sales goals through new partner acquisition and facilitate formal agreements with new channel partners to augment existing pipeline. Also, you ensure a clear Go-to-market (GTM) strategy is set with the partner early in engagement lifecycle.
- You develop and cultivate long-term relationships with key design, materials and processes engineers at the assigned demand generator customers. You provide application expertise and recommendations as needed on product configurations, part numbers, and options as required to suit customer needs.
- Current focus markets are Industrial markets (e.g. Plastics/ Molding Industry), Energy & Aerospace.
- You support the sales process through marketing activities, participation at conferences and exhibitions but also contract negotiation and conclusion.
- You work cross functionally with a variety of business leaders throughout the Materion organization and you are an active facilitator of cross-regional collaboration to ensure alignment on GTM tactics with global channel partners.
- You assist Materion Leadership in devising marketing and sales plans, providing forecasts, and budgets for the assigned sales channels and accounts.
- University or advanced degree in Metallurgical/Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Comprehensive experience in technical selling of high quality products, ideally in specialty metals and semi-finished products manufacturing industry.
- Sales expertise, commercial awareness, excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, technical, and complex sales environment.
- Creative thinker, problem solver and effective time manager.
- Willing to travel extensively and to work in an international cross-functional team.
- Very comfortable working with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint…) with knowledge and use of CRM tools preferred.
- Very good German and English language skills, verbally and in writing. Additional European language skills preferred.
