In order to strengthen our Mineralogy Team, we are looking for a

Mineralogist (f/m/d)

within the department Global Research & Development (Global R&D). The position will be located in Leimen (near Heidelberg), Germany, and report to the position Team Leader Mineralogy.


YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

  • You contribute to the success of the Mineralogy team in a cost-effective and goal-oriented industrial research environment.

  • You support (applied) research projects of Global R&D and cement plants in close cooperation with the Operational Support team.

  • You autonomously execute investigations and address questions in this context by applying cutting edge analytical techniques based on x-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), light microscopy and thermogravimetry (DTA/TG).

  • You take full ownership from accurate sample preparation to final evaluation.

  • You are interested in acquiring and expanding your own know-how and expertise.


YOUR PROFILE

  • You have a master's degree in mineralogy, chemistry, materials science or similar.

  • Your experience in cement-related industries or academic fields is seen as a plus.

  • You have experience in x-ray diffractometry including qualitative and quantitative data evaluation (Rietveld method) as well as scanning electron microscopy.

  • Experience in light microscopy and thermogravimetry is beneficial.

  • You show high social competence and excellent team spirit, intercultural awareness, and strong self-management skills.

  • You are fluent in German and have good English language skills.
