We are looking for a seasoned and hands-on data engineer with proven experience in data architecture. Your main tasks will include:
- Process analysis: learn business processes and document flows from the functional experts at the source (e.g., SAP, Salesforce.com)
- Data pipeline development: build ETL processes and real-time data processing pipelines by leveraging agile practices with later automation in mind (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Matillion)
- Data warehousing: design and model the data warehouse curated zone and optimize for business value and efficiency, specifically Data Vault, preferably on Snowflake
- Collaboration and communication: work with BI specialists and IT experts and document data processes and architectures in our data catalog (e.g., Collibra)
- Community enablement: share your knowledge with business stakeholders and technical experts
- Preference for agile software development practices
- Proven ability to design scalable and efficient data models, specifically but not exclusively leveraging Data Vault
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala and SQL
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and ETL tools
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure, understanding strengths and weaknesses of the platform
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric
- Proficient use of Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Independent and solution-driven way of working
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
