The retail world evolves continuously, hence OBI is on constant transformation as well. Business model, customer journeys and the used channel mix, the operational model - these all change. To ensure that a company still lives and grows in such conditions, structures are required that can deal with said transformation - some solid, some flexible. But what's the most efficient option for a domain - what needs to be changed, and in which ways?
OBI is looking for architects (m/f/d), who are eager to take the driving seat in such a scenario.
As our domain architect, your responsibility is to evolve the architecture (HLD) of your domain in a way that it can adopt the continuous change efficiently. You will closely work with the business and technical domain owners, the product teams, and the local architects and tech leads within the domain. This will be your team, this will be your home turf.
As an experienced architect, you will also give guidance to the teams in their internal decision making if needed.
In parallel, the overall landscape needs to be efficient and flexible, too. So enterprise-wide standards and principles will be applied but also constantly adjusted. Hence, you become an existential part of the architectural guild and board, getting in close exchange with the architects of the other domains, the enterprise, platforms etc.

- You sign yourself responsible for our domain HLD
- Furthermore, you provide team support & guidance in all relevant architectural topics
- You create an alignment with the other tech & business domain Leads
- You apply principles and standards - and conduct proper adjustments and/or evolutions if necessary
- Finally, you communicate with both your Teams and the Leads of the other domains
- You possess a master's degree in Computer Science (or similar) and provide a minimum of three years experience as an architect, preferably with experience in retail transformation
- You are an excellent Teamplayer and as such provide a high level of communicational skills
- Furthermore, you have deep-rooted DevOps knowledge as well as hyperscaler experience (i.e. we prefer an engineering background)
- Plus, you have profound knowledge of an architectural framework
