The Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (MPI-IS) conducts research to understand the principles of perception, action, and learning in natural and artificial systems that successfully interact with complex environments. The Haptic Intelligence Department of the institute focuses on understanding haptic (touch-based) interaction by both humans and robots. We draw expertise from biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, cognitive science, and other fields. Our current projects range from basic research on the sense of touch to applications in human-computer interactions and human-robot interactions. The department is looking for an enthusiastic and curious new team member to support our department members and research projects. We are looking for an IT Administrator (m/f/div) 50-100 % Your tasks: Administer computer systems and provide direct support for researchers and staff using Windows, Mac, and Linux Administer internal servers, cloud services, storage, and other IT resources Provide user support for IT-related systems including robots, motion capture, video conferencing, and audio / visual systems Collaborate with scientists by researching, planning, and implementing novel hardware and software solutions for complex research projects Purchase, configure, and support hardware and software Maintain user directories and inventory of hardware and software assets Coordinate with other IT personnel both on campus and at other Max Planck Institutes to support shared resources and provide mutual support Your profile: We are looking for a motivated and creative person who wants to join a dynamic international working environment.
