What to Expect
As a Field Service Technician, you will be the first point of contact for our customers regarding technical issues and problems. Your main task is to provide technical support both on-site at customers' locations and internally. This includes commissioning, installation, maintenance, consulting, and training customers, as well as handling warranty and paid service work. In this key role, you will build long-term customer relationships and act as a bridge between our customers, products, and internal teams.


  • Provide technical customer support and assistance (both internal and external).
  • Install and maintain our cutting machines, parts, assemblies, and systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on-site at customers' premises.
  • Train customer personnel in the correct operation of the equipment.
  • Conduct cutting trials, both internal and external, on FAM equipment and associated partner machinery.
  • Collaborate with our engineers and other personnel to identify, interpret, define, analyze, and resolve problems.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting using diagnostic techniques and asking pertinent questions.
  • Work within your territory as part of a team and regularly communicate with all team members regarding market perceptions of FAM Stumabo Deutschland.
  • When not traveling, you will work in the Niederzissen office performing other duties.

  • A completed technical education, ideally in mechanics and/or electronics, or equivalent qualifications gained through extensive professional experience.
  • Previous experience in technical service is an advantage.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn, with the perspective of growing into a combined service and sales role, where you will sell FAM Stumabo machines and conduct demonstrations of our cutting machines.
  • Ability to keep a cool head and to see the bigger picture.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills are a must.
  • Ability to work independently, autonomously and in a structured manner, but also the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Willingness to travel is essential; Your base is in Niederzissen, but we expect flexibility and the willingness to travel throughout Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to support customers (a Class B driver's license is required).Ideally, you live near our Niederzissen site.
  • Openness to taking on additional roles and responsibilities in the future.
  • Excellent command of the German language, both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of English for internal communication with colleagues at the headquarters in Belgium.
