Job description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Internal Auditor to expand our internal audit function. The function covers all business areas – except for technical/nautical compliance. Thus, you should have very strong people skills and a very strong understanding of business and IT processes. You will be reporting to the Head of Compliance & ESG who is also managing the internal audit function.

As you will be working across the business, it is not important at which of our business sites in Denmark or Germany you are located, and we expect a clear willingness to travel and be close to our business and colleagues.

Our locations are: Copenhagen (HQ), Hamburg (Accounting & Compliance & Sustainability Management) Puttgarden, Roedby, Rostock, Gedser (Ports and shops). Administrative & preparation work can be well done from home. You can choose your main office location at one of those.

Area of responsiblities

  • Improve our internal control system by developing group-wide standards and supporting process documentations, risk assessments and control definitions
  • Conduct internal audits in line with the annual risk-based internal audit plan alone, in an internal team or together with external specialists
  • Analyze patterns, identify control weaknesses and risks and develop recommendations
  • Document and present the audit results to the business, management, and the Board
  • Develop a fraud framework for the business and salespoints
  • Develop management action plans with the business and ensure their implementation is done
  • Conduct regular controls and spot checks throughout the business
  • Support the development of the internal audit methodology and audit plan

Knowledge/ Education

  • Academic degree in business administration, economics or similar
  • At least 5 years of professional experience from an international environment, preferably within Transportation, Logistics and/or Retail
  • Certified Internal Auditor or comparable certified auditing/process management background
  • Confident handling of MS Office
  • Fluent in oral and written English, proficiency in German and / or Danish are a clear advantage

Personal skills

As an Internal Auditor with a large toolbox within internal auditing in combination with a can-do-attitude, high integrity and professionalism. Further, you should have a good business understanding and you are not afraid to challenge the current processes.

  • Strong process analyzing skills and used to work in a structured manner
  • Proactive and insisting approach (if necessary) towards managers and employees
  • Must be able to work independently and set own personal goals
  • Strong willing to travel between sites in Denmark (Rødby, Gedser and Copenhagen) and Germany (Puttgarden, Rostock and Hamburg)

We have benchmarked the position's salary and see a significant possible range depending on experience/ skills and therefor request your salary proposal based on your skills and experience. We see a minimum of 85k / year.
