The "Materials Technology" department of the "Production Planning & Production Technology Powertrain" center is responsible for materials development and the associated laboratory activities within the powertrain. Together with the development, production and quality departments, we stand for material technology component optimisation as well as functional and production-oriented design of the materials. In materials technology, the suitable materials are also selected in order to realize innovative, durable and climate-neutral drive concepts. Currently, various electric motor concepts, e.g. axial flux machines, as well as traction batteries and combustion engines are being evaluated and optimized.

For our "Materials Drive Systems" team, we are looking for an employee who will initiate, evaluate and specify plastic, adhesive and elastomer applications in the powertrain for production. Our team currently consists of 16 highly motivated and friendly colleagues who are looking forward to your support. We attach great importance to communicating with each other at eye level, directly and in regular exchange appointments. It is also important to us that we deal with each other constructively and honestly. You can arrange your working hours flexibly and use mobile working.

Your tasks include:

  • Specification, optimization and validation of plastics, adhesives and elastomers taking into account sustainability aspects
  • Independent creation of test and validation plans, taking into account the development dates of the component
  • Material development and specification in cooperation with raw material manufacturers and suppliers, taking into account the framework conditions given by the development
  • Responsibility for the definition, implementation and evaluation of prototype setups
  • Tech scouting of new plastics, adhesives and elastomers as well as novel processing concepts by attending trade fairs, conferences or meetings

Ideally, you should have:

  • Completed university degree in plastics/adhesives/materials technology, mechanical engineering or comparable
  • Proficiency in German and English
  • High degree of responsibility and reliability
  • Independent way of working and initiative
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a team
  • Strategic, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills
