Our corporate research team @ZEISS

We invite you to join our research team that works on surgical assistance functions as an expert for modeling & biomechanical simulations to shape the future of microsurgery. Together with surgeons, our medical business unit, academic partners, and students we are exploring assistance functions for microsurgery which make surgery more reliable, increase reproducibility, and improve surgical outcomes. At the ZEISS Innovation Hub @ KIT where we are turning today's research into tomorrow's applications in close cooperation with our partners. Located at the north campus of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), you will work in close vicinity to world-leading research institutes and with many startups co-located in the brand-new building.

Your Role

  • In collaboration with internal and external cooperation partners, projects dealing with the modeling and simulation of anatomical tissues (biomechanical, physiological, geometrical) will be planned, initiated, and executed.
  • Contribute to the iterative design of new medical devices, the study of new surgical approaches, and the development of innovative surgical assistance functions, based on tissue simulations
  • Evolve our biomechanical and physiological simulation tool ecosystem and the corresponding interfaces
  • Coordinate experiments which demonstrate the agreement between your simulations and real tissue behavior
  • Manage a network of internal and external partners who bring technological expertise and application know-how
  • Give technical direction to students and colleagues
