To get there, we are looking for an exceptionally talented and empathetic leader for the position of EHS Specialist in a permanent position. A possible relocation will be supported if certain criteria are met. As a Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will lead the EHS department at the respective logistics location. You will work closely with the local management and report directly to the AR EHS Global Lab Safety Manager.Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting risk assessments
- Drawing up operating instructions and supporting training materials
- Advising employees and management on the subject of occupational safety
- Implementing legal and Amazon internal requirements in occupational safety
- Working with various support functions (HR, Engineering, Facilities).
- Ensuring compliance with German occupational health and safety laws and guidelines as well as company guidelines and completing the necessary formalities to comply with them
- Evaluating accidents and statistics and developing prevention programs to avoid accidents • Creating a safe work culture and promoting commitment to occupational health and safety measures of management and teams
- Close cooperation with the local fire brigade, the occupational health and safety authorities and the professional association and maintaining these relationships
- Development of programs on EHS topics
- Close cooperation with the local works council in accordance with Section 9 ASiG
- Define and implement process improvement plans
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Completed studies, preferably in a technical or safety-related field. Alternatively, equivalent practical experience- Occupational safety specialist in accordance with Section 6 ASiG or DGUV V2
- Experience in the field of occupational safety
- Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills
- Technical expertise to support business strategy by planning/ supervising preventive and corrective work.
- Sifa certified.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in applying Lean, 5S or Kaizen methods- Qualifications or experience with measures in the field of environmental protection.
- Fluency in German language
