About us

We are looking for a Computational Materials Scientist with focus on Glass and Glass Ceramics to join our Research & Development Team at our headquarters in Mainz.

Your Contribution

  • In-depth analysis of complex material process properties correlations to meet future product requirements
  • Integration of materials simulation with R&D processes
  • Responsibility for ambitious development projects
  • Patent work
  • Monitoring and application of state-of-the-art methods in computational materials science and machine learning
  • Networking: maintain & extend relevant contacts to the scientific community and external technology providers

Your Profile

  • Excellent university degree in physics, chemistry or materials science, preferably with PhD
  • Professional experience at the university (PhD program), research institute or in a development department of a technology company
  • Broad knowledge in materials modeling: for understanding how materials work, how to improve them and how to develop new ones
  • Practical knowledge in major programming languages (Python, C++, C, Fortran, etc.)
  • You take an active role in translating your insights into industrial practice
  • Experience in Glass and Glass Ceramics, industrial development, machine-learned interatomic potentials and/or data engineering is a great benefit
  • Good German and fluent business English (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel abroad
