Compliance Manager (f/m/d)


Customs, export control

  • Check and advise customers on required transport licenses for transit, transshipment, import and export of military cargo, sensitive cargo and dual use cargo
  • Perform risk analyses of the status quo with regards to import, transit, transshipment and export regulations taking local regulations into account

Compliance

  • Maintain, administrate and develop group compliance policies and programs, in particular in the fields of Data Protection, Competition, Embargoes & Sanctions, Whistleblower Protection Act and German Supply Chain Duty of Care Act
  • Be responsible for compliance matters such as AEO and data protection and act as contact person for compliance inquiries in connection with AEO, ISO, ISM and customs
  • Act as data protection coordinator, be responsible for monitoring and coordinating all data protection requirements/requests according to GDPR and act as contact person within the agency
  • Accept and further process compliance violations notifications
  • Provide guidance to ensure that the business units implement the elements of the required compliance policies taking into account local regulations
  • Support ongoing investigations if any, where required (e.g. Dawn Raids)
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to provide advice and guidance in all compliance-related matters

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration or Legal and Administration, Master's degree advantageous
  • Certified knowlegde in German War Weapons Control Act
  • Certified knowlegde in export, transit/transshipment and import law
  • Long-standing experience in a similar role and shipping knowledge
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of sanctions, embargo changes and impact on CMA CGM
  • Pronounced risk management capabilities
  • Strong writing skills as well as capability to document relevant information in a clear, structured and comprehensive way
  • Distinguished written and verbal communication skills in English; skills in German and additional European languages advantageous
  • High degree of independence, assertiveness and ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent team player who enjoys working in an international environment with different departments
