R&D Business Controller (m/f/x)

The Position:
We are looking for a forward-thinking and results-oriented Business Controller with extensive experience and advanced financial analytics & planning capabilities.

In this exciting role, you will report to the Head of Finance Business Partnering Corporate Functions / Functional Units and will work closely with different Finance teams and R&D functions in Europe, Canada, Japan and in the US.


  • Primary point of contact for financial inquiries with regards to R&D resources and expenses within the Global Oncology Alliances
  • Coordinate and manage reporting and planning timelines and tasks within the Alliances
  • Coordinate the mid-term and long-term planning of R&D FTE and R&D internal & external expenses for Global Oncology Alliances in close collaboration with Global and European R&D Functional Leads
  • Reconciliation between Alliance planning and Daiichi Sankyo internal plans (Budget and quarterly Forecasts)
  • Quarterly Alliance Actuals Reporting for Daiichi Sankyo entities in Europe and Canada
  • Provide project updates, analysis and ad-hoc reports for R&D FTE and expenses to diverse internal and external stakeholders Manage and perform regional and global cost cross-charging processes in collaboration with Finance teams in Europe, Canada and Japan
  • Continuously challenge and optimize existing processes and tools and contribute to design discussions for reporting standards, processes and templates
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address findings

  • Degree in business administration or a related degree with a focus on Finance and / or Controlling
  • 5-7 years of experience in Controlling or Financial Planning & Analysis ideally with experience within the R&D section and / or global interaction
  • Result oriented with a strong affinity for numbers in financial context that enables you to quickly think your way through complex tasks
  • Teamwork, goal awareness and high-quality standards
  • Must be a self-starter with an attention to detail
  • Understanding of data best practices
  • Fluency in English
