Postdoc Position for System Modelling

for a physicist or engineer for the development of computational models of engineering components.


  • Responsibility for developing computational models of engineering components (such as magnet system, power balance, etc.) to be used in integrated Stellarator reactor studies
  • Active involvement and support of Stellarator reactor studies, e.g. through interface specification
  • Publication and communication of scientific results
  • As the IPP is committed to talent management, the supervision of PhDs and students is con­sidered an integral part of scientific work

  • PhD in the field of physics or engineering
  • Advanced knowledge / skills in programming and code development
  • Experience in working with complex code frameworks
  • Experience in surrogate modelling is beneficial
  • Fundamental knowledge in magnetic confinement fusion is beneficial
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English
