About the team
The Quality Technology & Solutions (QTS) team is an integral part of the EU Inventory Control and Quality Assurance (ICQA) organization. Although we primarily serve the EU region, our innovative solutions and strategies have a global impact. We are a diverse and dynamic team comprising Software Development Engineers (SDEs), Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs), Data Analysts, and Process Experts. Our mission is to design and implement cutting-edge technological solutions that enhance operational efficiency, drive quality assurance, ensure inventory control, and reduce concessions. By leveraging advanced technologies and data-driven methodologies, we aim to deliver impactful solutions that support Amazon's commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.


As an Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer within the QTS (Quality Technology & Solutions) team, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive decision-making and operational improvements. Your expertise in data analysis, visualization, and reporting will be critical to maintaining inventory accuracy and enhancing quality assurance processes.

Data Collection and Management:
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to gather, process, and store large volumes of inventory-related data. Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing rigorous validation and cleansing processes.

Data Analysis:
Analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that impact inventory accuracy and quality. Utilize statistical methods and machine learning models to derive actionable insights from data.

Reporting and Visualization:
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide real-time visibility into inventory performance and quality metrics.
Create visualizations that effectively communicate complex data insights to stakeholders.

Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and IT, to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
Provide technical expertise and support to team members on data-related issues.

Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance data collection, processing, and reporting methodologies.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure best practices in business intelligence.

Project Management:
Lead and manage BI projects from conception to implementation, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

By leveraging your skills in data analytics and business intelligence, you will contribute significantly to the QTS team's efforts to maintain inventory accuracy, improve quality assurance, and optimize operational efficiency.


  • Experience with data querying or modeling with SQL
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science/Statistics/Engineering or demonstrated experience in one of the following areas: Data engineering, business intelligence or business analytics.
  • Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
  • Advanced expertise in Excel
  • Experience operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
  • Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively develop and communicate clear, thoughtful, and comprehensive analyses.
  • Basic understanding of Scrum methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems and related field or 2+ years industry experience..
  • Experience in statistical analysis (e.g. ability to conduct analyses using regression, modeling, forecasting approaches, and related tools)
  • Familiar with Amazon process related data. Experience with Machine Learning Techniques to Understand Data Patterns and Make Predictions
  • Experience in managing and prioritizing a project backlog.
  • Expertise in using big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar.
  • Advanced understanding of Scrum methodologies and hands-on experience with Scrum tools like Jira, Trello, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud platforms.
