Our Extended Responsibility Compliance team is looking for a Senior Manager to plan and execute large-scale global programs that ensure the compliance our Amazon's businesses and operations.

The Extended Producer Responsibility team in Amazon assesses environmental compliance requirements worldwide and ensures adherence with post-consumer waste regulations. We drive innovative solutions across Amazon that are simple, efficient and scalable. We protect the environment through the adequate collection and recycling of waste for our customers.

This role requires leading a team and working with different business owners across organizations to define the strategy, requirements, and timelines as well as lead complex cross-functional initiatives. This position involves regular communication with senior management on roadmaps, program updates, risks, and change management. The person in this role is a subject matter expert in product compliance, and works with business leaders to overcome obstacles to enable GMS growth and cost reduction efforts.
- Lead a team of compliance professionals to execute complex multi-disciplinary projects across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Identify and lead complex initiatives aimed at growing Amazon GMS and/or reducing the operational cost of compliance.
- Present strategic roadmaps and project reviews to senior leaders across Amazon.
- Ensure regulatory requirements are met for existing and new products/businesses by understanding product attributes to drive compliance solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with our legal, business and technical teams to ensure compliance requirements are known and projects are carried out to delivery.
A day in the life
A typical day you may be presenting a project update to L10/L8 business leaders; driving a review of a separate project with L8/L7 Working Group members to ensure the team made progress toward the next project milestone; and organizing an internal team meeting to brainstorm ways we can accomplish the needs of a business initiative while also ensuring the solution meets its necessary compliance objectives.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Team leadership experience.
- Experience in compliance, audit or risk management.
- Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent.
- Program management experience including cross-team coordination, project management, and communication across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience driving process improvement with technology in a global role.
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, MBA, PhD or related advanced degree.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent.
- Familiarity with regulatory consulting and supply chain management concepts as well as in driving both business and technology platform roadmaps in complex tech landscape through work experience or graduate level education.
