Frankfurt International School is a state-recognized, privately run school with English as its primary language of instruction. We are looking for our Oberursel campus an Executive Assistant serving the FIS Head of School and the FIS Board of Trustees. This position plays a crucial role in the school and operates in a unique environment that requires a blend of administrative competencies and more nuanced, sophisticated skills and wisdom. The successful candidate for this role will be highly organized, adaptable, and able to handle various responsibilities while maintaining a professional and discreet demeanor.

This position requires a combination of skills, qualities and knowledge, including:


  • Office management routines and practices
  • Organization of significant events
  • Administrative assistant for the Board of Trustees; responsible for the entire logistical process and taking minutes for all Board meetings
  • Member of the Policy Committee; responsible for the logistical process for Policy Committee meetings, as well as the upkeep and maintenance of the Board Policy Manual and the Administrative Regulations Manual
  • Oversight and organization of the annual Board of Trustees election
  • Other projects, tasks, and responsibilities as directed by the Head of School

  • Six to ten years prior experience supporting a senior executive, working with a Board, or in a similar Executive Administrative role
  • Excellent computer skills, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluency and exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills in both English and German
  • Familiarity with an international school environment is of benefit
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to handle unexpected challenges and problem-solve effectively
  • Project management skills from planning to completion
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the school
  • Comfort in interacting with high-level executives and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with school employees, leadership, Board members and parents
