YOUR TASKThe main responsibility lies within managing the Crew Planning Department and oversight of the related tasks of advanced production of the flight crew rosters within any legislative and legitimate requirements. Major tasks involve strategic crew
capacity planning with the focus on further optimization, automation, efficiency and balance. The expertise in this role shall additionally support related union negotiation processes and functional directive towards day-to-day Crew Scheduling.
- Manage team of Crew Planning Department and required recruitment, training and evaluation tasks
- Ensure overall tasks of advanced flight crew roster production including annual flight crew leave planning with focus on optimization and efficiency
- Oversee adherence to and compliance with applicable legislative requirements, incl. company policies, procedures, agreements
- Manage strategic direction and focus
- Define procedures and guidelines for Crew Planning (long term) as well as Crew Scheduling (day-to-day) staff
- Provide technical and functional support to the respective teams
- Review the crew need calculations
- Liaise crewing-optimal Network schedule for the airline
- Provide reviews, reports, analysis and statistics as required
- Support management in union negotiations related to crewing
- Coordinate with other departments with regard to further crew planning inputs such as flight crew training, office duties, meetings, network capacity planning and fleet projections
- Engage in automation of the flight crew roster production and annual flight crew leave planning
- Liaise with Senior Manager Flight Operations Control and Manager FOC - Crew scheduling Department about crewing issues
- Participate in workshops, meetings and projects requiring expertise in flight crew planning and rostering
- Manage other individual tasks assigned by the Director Flight Operations
WHAT YOU BRING
- Completed studies and several years of relevant professional experience in the field of flight crewing
- Aviation background
- In-depth knowledge of complex regulatory requirements applicable to crewing
- Strong computer skills, including a crewing software, preferably AIMS
- Proficiency in a crewing system administration
- Understanding of flight operations procedures and organizational requirements for airworthiness and airline operations
- Interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to work well under stress and ahead towards deadlines
- Analytical thinking
- Independent way of working
- Effective communication towards different levels of staff
- Initiative, self-motivated, flexible
- Prioritizing, problem-solving, decision-making
- Fluent and proficient English, both spoken and written
- Ability to understand German
