We collaborate with our development teams in science, mechanical and electrical engineering, physics, geoscience, to develop innovative drilling tools.

Partner with the best
As Engineer – Power Electronics (d/f/m) you will be responsible for designing, developing and testing our new products and components for our harsh environment operations. The opportunity affords career growth and mentoring through a well-established training and development program. Our positions offer choices ensuring stability, flexibility, and mobility. You will be responsible for developing complex electronic circuits designed for use in downhole drilling tools under extreme environmental conditions. In this role, you will strengthen our power and pulser team by developing advanced motor drives and high-power-density switching power supplies for high-temperature downhole applications. Your responsibilities will span the entire life cycle of electronic system design, including requirement specification, concept, design, simulation, implementation, verification & validation, and documentation.
As Engineer – Power Electronics (d/f/m), you will be responsible for:

  • Circuit designing of power electronic modules, including mixed-signal circuitry.
  • Developing of power electronics modules, including motor drives and switching power supplies.
  • Taking ownership of system simulation using Matlab/Simulink to validate control algorithms for the power electronic modules.
  • Supporting of the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layout.
  • Testing and characterization of electronic circuits at high ambient temperature.
  • Developing of test systems including hardware and software.
  • Managing qualification of electronic components for high temperature applications.
  • Documenting and presenting of development results in design reviews to complete milestones in the technology development process.

Show your passion

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have sucessfully completed your studies in Electrical Engineering, preferably with the focus on power electronics.
  • Have practical experience in circuit- and system design of power electronics, gathered during internships, thesis and/or professional experience in the above area of responsibility.
  • Have experience and knowledge in the field of power electronics topologies, in particular various voltage converters and control systems for electrical machines
  • Have knowledge of the new technologies of power electronic components such as wide band-gap devices (GaN or SiC).
  • Have knowledge in the area of measurement and control engineering, preferably including hardware in the loop (HIL) testing.
  • Have experience with state of the art electronic laboratory equipment.
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal English skills required due to working in an internationally diverse working environment.

Work in a way that works for you

We recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone. In this role, we can confidently offer the following flexible working patterns:
