We are seeking a Legal Counsel Region Europe (m/f /d) 50 to 80% to join our team.

The position entails offering suitable, professional, proactive, and timely Legal & Compliance support to all Medela Group entities with a focus on the Europe Region.


  • Lead and coordinate internal and external audits and investigationsProvide cross-functional legal and compliance support
  • Advise, prepare, review and negotiate all types of contracts and other legally relevant documents, incl. standards and templates with focus on pricing agreements with customers and frame agreements with Key Accouts
  • Represent the group towards local external authorities
  • Manage external claims and litigations together with external counsels if needed or with members of the legal team in Switzerland
  • Select, instruct and monitor external lawyers and other consultants
  • Provide in-house trainings regarding legal and compliance topics, and manage and support legal and compliance audits
  • Support senior management regarding risk topics, incl. risk assessments
  • Support the Head Group Compliance in maintaining the compliance program, compliance organisation and compliance management system of the Medela Group
  • Assess third parties (Suppliers and Business Partners) regarding compliance with applicable supply chain legislation and ESG compliance standards as well as the respective internal regulations issued by the Medela Group.
  • Respond to and coordinate external compliance audits regarding Medela's Group compliance with applicable supply chain legislation and ESG compliance standards.

  • 5 to 8 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in contractual law and compliance.
  • Proven experience in providing compliance training for management and staff.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the medical device industry would be advantageous.
  • Ability to handle a variety of complex legal matters and identify, anticipate, and develop solutions-oriented strategies that mitigate legal risks while achieving commercial targets.
  • Ability to work independently and guide projects as part of a global team that manages international transactions and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and German; proficiency in any other European language would be beneficial.
