As "Head (L2) of Health Management and Occupational Health and Safety", you will be responsible for the professional and disciplinary management of the Health & Safety, Health Management and Occupational Health and Safety unit at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, and for organizing and ensuring all statutory and professional association regulations in the field of health and occupational health and safety. This also includes the definition of uniform procedures and standards in the field of occupational medicine, health management and occupational health and safety, taking into account the co-determination of the Works Council. You will represent the interests of Mercedes-Benz Group AG with regard to health and safety in external committees, and lead a team with the following specific tasks:
- You will be responsible for occupational medicine within Mercedes-Benz Group AG. This includes ensuring, carrying out and evaluating occupational health precautions and aptitude tests in accordance with statutory, professional association and internal regulations. You will also advise the company, the Works Council and employees on health protection and the prevention of work-related health hazards.
- You will also ensure general and emergency medical care, as well as first aid in the event of accidents and emergencies, including emergency medical care by the qualified factory emergency services.
- You will be responsible for ensuring medical crisis management, including pandemic planning.
- You will be responsible for travel medical advice and the necessary examinations and vaccinations of business travelers and expatriates, including their accompanying family members. This also includes medical emergency management for employees who have been injured or fallen seriously ill abroad (and, if necessary, their accompanying family members).
- You will be responsible for occupational health and safety within Mercedes-Benz Group AG: Carrying out the (ongoing) development of occupational health and safety standards in accordance with statutory, trade association and internal regulations as well as advising the company, the General Works Council and occupational health and safety employees on the subject of occupational health and safety and accident prevention. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the development of standards and advice on the analysis of working conditions with regard to occupational safety, toxicological, ergonomic and occupational psychological issues as well as the concept development and design of changes in the working world with regard to occupational safety and legal requirements.
- You will be responsible for the strategic planning, conception and implementation of processes, standards and instruments for evaluating and improving ergonomics in all divisions of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, both nationally and internationally. To this end, you will work together with external committees and institutions to further develop ergonomic processes and tools while safeguarding the company's interests and coordinating all strategic ergonomics issues with employee representatives.
- You will also manage the strategic planning, conception and implementation of operational integration management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG's locations in Germany. This includes processes and tools for the assignment of employees with health restrictions according to their ability. Furthermore, you will ensure the legally compliant and comprehensive implementation of operational integration management (OIM)within the framework of responsibility as a Global Functional Team (GFT) with comprehensive end-to-end responsibility for the OIM process.
- You will ensure compliance with the requirements of legal data protection with regard to all medical and health data at Mercedes-Benz Group AG.
- You will coordinate socio-medical care and social counseling. This includes the conception and implementation of business-oriented social counseling and the SOB portfolio as well as counseling, assessment and support for health problems at work and reintegration after a long/severe illness with a psychosocial background. You will ensure optimal counseling for managers in the event of changes in behavior and performance, loss of motivation, disturbances in the working atmosphere, operational change processes or addictive diseases, and manage the support of special target groups (such as addicts, employees with severe disabilities).
- You will be responsible for the strategic conception, planning and implementation of occupational health promotion for prevention, and also for monitoring the effectiveness of the measures as well as epidemiological controlling with determination of fields of action and measures and their effective implementation. In this context, you will work closely with the company's own health insurance company Mercedes-Benz BKK.
- You will inform, raise the awareness of and train managers on health topics and on health-conscious behavior in order to strengthen their role as role models. You will motivate and strengthen the responsibility of employees to maintain their own health.
- You will be responsible for the further development and implementation of internal quality management with standardization for all Health and Safety units.
- You will have disciplinary responsibility and manage the strategic and sustainable orientation of Mercedes-Benz Gastronomie GmbH, which is responsible for the operation of company/guest restaurants (canteens) and catering shops in the plants of Mercedes-Benz AG in Germany, as well as the operation of a catering/delivery service.
Education/training:
- A degree in human medicine and licensure; doctorate desirable
- Specialism in occupational medicine and also in general medicine or internal medicine
- Further specialisms (such as emergency medicine, environmental medicine, sports medicine, travel medicine, nutritional medicine, addiction medicine, medical quality management, traffic medicine, public health...) are welcome
- Trained as a safety specialist in accordance with ASiG, or willing to undergo such training
Experience and specific knowledge:
- Several years of clinical experience and several years of solid professional experience in occupational medicine
- Relevant experience in supporting manufacturing companies and in social, environmental and emergency medicine
- Several years of experience as a manager
- Experience of working with internal and external partners, committees and institutions
- Basic business qualification desirable
- Qualification as a safety specialist or safety engineer desirable
- Knowledge of legal framework conditions, as well as current developments and standards in the field of health and safety management
- Knowledge of structures of modern occupational health management, effective methods of occupational health promotion and occupational safety
