Sustainability Reporting Coordinator (m/f/d)

Region: Cologne (mobile work partly possible)

  • ESG data collection, reporting and disclosure: define, collect, compile and report ESG data and metrics in adherence to external reporting standards and ensure comprehensive disclosure, supported by ESG software
  • Monitoring and internal steering: continuously monitor and analyze ESG data for internal decision-making and provide data-driven recommendations
  • Data management: establish and manage a robust architecture and system for CR data management, ensuring data accuracy, consistency and security; implement data governance best practices to ensure auditable reporting processes
  • Cross-functional collaboration and project management: engage in cross-functional collaboration to support CR initiatives and independently manage CR projects related to reporting content
  • CO2 footprint calculation: collect, analyze and calculate CO2 emissions for the BERNER Group, covering scopes 1, 2 and selected scope 3 emissions; establish and maintain tools and methodologies for CO2 calculation
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate ESG data collection
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the CR strategy and goals
  • Share data-driven insights with the organization to drive sustainability initiatives

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Econometrics or related studies
  • Ideally several years of experience working in a sustainability, ESG or CSR role or controlling function in mid-sized or large corporation
  • Proven experience with ESG reporting frameworks, standards, platforms and data
  • Data-driven and analytical mindset with attention to detail, combined with troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
  • High-level Excel skills, IT and systems savviness as well as advanced analytical skills
  • Fluency in English; German language skills desirable but not essential
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • Self-directed and motivated professional
  • Willingness to work at both detailed and strategic levels, autonomously and collaboratively in a global team environment with functional experts
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adapting to frequent change, working well under pressure and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Can-do attitude and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Independent working style and ability to think outside the box
